"I’m Paul Sparrow, a hobbyist painter based in Ipswich. Visiting zoos and wildlife parks is one of my greatest passions, and painting allows me to bring those incredible experiences home. Though I still see myself very much as a novice learning the craft, working with oil on canvas paper on board has given me a wonderful way to truly study and connect with the natural world.

Inspiration: My two donated pieces—featuring a tiger and a toucan—stem from a deep fascination with wildlife. I wanted to capture the striking, bold colors of these animals and the quiet intensity of their gaze. Jimmy’s Farm does vital conservation work through Space for the Wild, and I’m incredibly proud that my favorite hobby can play a small part in helping protect the animals I love to visit and paint."
