Why Partner With Space for the Wild
Space for the Wild delivers measurable conservation impact through carefully planned rescue missions and long-term habitat development.
Founded by Jimmy Doherty and based at Jimmy’s Farm & Wildlife Park, our work combines international wildlife rescue with practical, on-the-ground conservation infrastructure.
We focus on projects that are ambitious, responsibly delivered and transparently reported.
Our core areas include:
- Endangered species rescue and rehabilitation
- Woodland and habitat creation
- Long-term sanctuary development
- Education and public engagement
We work with a number of aligned partners to ensure projects are properly resourced and sustainably managed.

Current Priority: Bears Behind Bars
Space for the Wild is leading an international rescue mission to bring five Moon Bears from captivity in South Korea to safety in the UK.
As part of this work, we are developing a dedicated reserve at Jimmy’s Farm & Wildlife Park to support their arrival and rehabilitation.
This mission involves:
- Securing release and specialist veterinary assessment overseas
- Welfare-approved international transport
- Development of a suitable reserve environment
- Initial rehabilitation and welfare support on arrival
Leadership partners will help underwrite the rescue and the development of the reserve.
