Wildlife Conservation Starts with Habitat
Every species depends on something fragile… a stretch of woodland, a rare wetland plant, a healthy river system, a connected landscape.
When those habitats shrink, wildlife disappears.
Rescue saves individual animals. Conservation protects the entire species for the future.
To keep species wild, we must restore and protect the environments that sustain them.
Our Approach
Conservation is long-term. It is preventative. It is grounded in science.
We work with conservation partners, scientists and land managers to:
- Restore and reconnect fragile habitats
- Strengthen biodiversity in vulnerable ecosystems
- Support regenerative land practices
- Act early before species reach crisis point
Help us protect the environments that sustain our most endangered species.
Because once a species is lost, its lost forever.
Featured Project
Saving the British Swallowtail Butterfly

The British Swallowtail is the UK’s largest and most critically endangered butterfly. Once found more widely across East Anglia, it is now restricted to the Norfolk Broads.
Its survival depends entirely on one plant: Milk Parsley.
As rising salinity and habitat loss threaten this rare wetland species, the butterfly’s future hangs in the balance.
Working alongside Jimmy’s Farm & Wildlife Park, Nature’s SAFE and Anglia Ruskin University, Space for the Wild is part of an East Anglia wide mission to strengthen this delicate ecosystem.
Our work includes:
- Cryogenic preservation of butterfly eggs
- Cultivating and strengthening Milk Parsley
- Reconnecting fragmented wetland habitats
- Supporting breeding and resilience programmes
Small actions, taken early, can create lasting change – a true Butterfly Effect.
Conservation Beyond Borders

Through international partnerships, including our support of Bear Again in Romania, we contribute to large-scale ecosystem protection and rewilding efforts that allow wildlife to return to their natural environments.
Healthy ecosystems reduce displacement, lower extinction risk and lessen the need for rescue.
Wildlife needs space. Help us protect and create it.

Help Protect the Wild
By restoring habitats today, we safeguard species for generations to come.
Protecting ecosystems is not just about preventing loss. It is about building resilience for the future.
Join us to protect their future.
