Moon Bear

by Kelly Barnard

I'm a self taught artist from Ipswich with a love from painting, gardening and wildlife. As a busy mum with additional needs, I find peace when painting and being out in nature. This is also where much of my inspiration comes from.

This painting was inspired by the Moon Bear’s playful and happy appearance. I wanted to capture the warmth and character in its expression, particularly the soft, contented look in its eyes.

I used a muted palette of deep blues, soft greys and warm earthy tones to create a calm and harmonious feel, while building up the fur with layers to bring the bear to life.
